"Comparison creates fear." - Brené Brown
As I continue making my way through Brown's book, Dare to Lead, and how it is rocking my world in such a positive way, let's dig into comparison and fear. This is the second video in a video series that I'm doing where I digest some of my top takeaways from the book.
When we think about comparison and how it creates fear, there is a very real and in-our-face issue that I want to bring light to.
That is the fear which arises from comparisons we create for ourselves because of our social media driven, hyperconnected world.
Comparing oneself to other people you see from afar on the internet creates fear. Fear of not being enough. This fear can lead to anger, resentment and self loathing.
If you find yourself doing this, please take a breath and take a pause, and give yourself a hug. In the video, I ask you some questions and ask yourself to reflect on this.
